But I can see you're a persistent little bugger, so go ahead and keep reading for the scoop on the people behind Gabby's Corner. I warn you though, we're an odd bunch and it's not unheard of for passive observers and innocent bystanders to contract sometimes fatal cases of confusion, disorientation, and otherwise general insanity from overexposure to our ... er... "unique" ways. If cases of insomnia, nausea, indigestion and mild to severe seizures continue after ninety days, consult your doctor immediately. Gabby's Corner may not be right for you.
Okay, so who the frell are you?
I'm also a huge geek, so I get into fandoms really easy. I've been dubbed the "Goddess of the Geeks." So if you be geek, I am your high deity. You name it, if it's geeky I know everything there is to know about it. There have been those who have challenged my crown, but to no avail. I am a power too great in the ways of the geek to be trifled with. Learn to accept it and move on with your life. My area of expertise lies with Tolkien, the author of Lord of the Rings, therefore I've been called "Gabby-ladriel" by many of my friends (after Galadriel, the Elf Queen of Lothlorien, and arguably the wisest sentient being in Middle Earth). But I am equally enthralled with other areas of fantasy and sci fi, as you will see when you surf this site.
So... what's the deal with Gabby's Corner?
Mostly though, it's just a place for me and my better thirds to run free with our creative genius (read: weird insanity). We find the oddest things to be frickin' 'ilarious, and think you ought to feel the same way too. We are the Geek Tri-Force, but you can call us The Gavemina.
The Gav-em-who-a-what?
Thaaaat's right. Your level of concern is rising, is it not? Just remember: Don't Panic. We're harmless. Well, Mostly Harmless, at least. ;)
The three of us basically embody all that is geeky. Em is the literature geek. Gav is the technology geek. And I am the uber-geek: your basic all-purpose brand, though I specialize in sci-fi/fantasy. Between the three of us there is no hope of ever Want to know more about "The Gavemina"? Then keep your eye on My Random Thoughts for more articles on us and our crazy mishaps.
I don't blame you: I wouldn't want to listen to me babble on about my boring life and people you probably don't even know either. So for those of you who just want the basics, here are my general stats:
Name: Gabby
I think that's about enough for now.
I got this in an e-mail several years ago and thought it was a very cool idea. It's my personal philosophy that you can learn the most about a person just by listening to the music they listen to, because that's when they're being the most honest and free with their emotions. So, if I could write the soundtrack to my life, what would it sound like? The following are songs that describe me or my life the best (for the most part; unfortunately some of my favorite bands have absolutely nothing to do with my life, or reality in general, so there's a couple songs thrown in there that don't have anything to do with anything. You'll know which ones they are because they usually don't make any sense. Come on, it just wouldn't be my soundtrack if TMBG wasn't in there somewhere!). Of course, apparently my soundtrack would be 62 songs long (Ooh, a triple CD set!), so let's just call this the "Greatest Hits" version. I reserve the right to add to/take away from this list at any given time.
I am a loser geek
My Soundtrack (in semi-particular order [because I'm compulsive, but undisciplined]):
BONUS TRACK!:
Well, I've pretty much exhausted the subject of me. If you want to know anything further... then you frighten me. Don't force me to file a restraining order against you now...
Check out my disclaimer/privacy statement if you have any such questions.
-Gabby-So, you want to know more about me. Or, more than likely, you heard some bizarre reference, joke, phrase or word while surfing around my site, and you're now hoping I'll provide you with some clarity. Well, I can save you the trouble now and tell you this: if it didn't make much sense the first time around, there's a good chance it just doesn't make sense. period.
The Rundown
I go by many pseudonyms, but most call me Gabby. I've been making websites for over 8 years now, and I've been writing (fanfics) for about 9. I'm most interested in writing, directing, acting, and other such arts, so a lot of what you see on Gabby's Corner is just expressions of these and other such hobbies. When I was thirteen or fourteen I was encouraged to share my fiction on-line by an old friend of mine (the previous owner of Gabby's Corner; or as it was then known, Backstreet Millennium), and from those humble beginnings of maintaining one little page of fanfiction on a fandom website, I eventually ended up taking the site over and moved into new forums of creative expression. Icon-making for my Live Journal became an obsession rather fast; I've always been an animator, so becoming a cartoonist was simple, and so forth, and so on.
Well, it's my corner of the internet. For some odd reason, people find my work interesting. For some odd reason, I've established a (get this!) fan-base. For some odd reason, I've been threatened with things as serious as death by The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal if I didn't put out the latest chapter of [enter my latest fanfic here] before the week was out. So, since I aim to please (and I'm scared of death by ravenous things), I keep my work up on an open forum for people to read/watch/have fun with.
The Gavemina?
The Gavemina. To explain the whole story would be far too complicated, and potentially dangerous to your health, so we'll keep it simple. I have two very good friends who, initially, questioned my right as Goddess of the Geeks. Later, when they found out I was in fact too geeky to challenge, we decided our powers were of much better use when put together. So you have me + Gav + Em = Gavemina. We, together, make up the geek tri-force, which goes a little something like this:
Geek the Mother
Geek the Daughter
Geek the Force (Or, Holy Force)getting laid one day living a normal life. Even so, we are strangely proud of our h4rdc0rz c00litud3, and seem positively disinterested in any type of rehabilitation effort.
